With a large interest in sustainability and empowering menstruators, we found that there is not much information upon how to switch to sustainable solutions for period products. Information is scattered through unreliable sources, which are hard to find. This led us towards creating a tool for educating about the environmental impacts of conventional period products, and the sustainable alternatives, as it pollutes the oceans, our lands, creates health problems worldwide.
As finding an alternative that fits an individual’s complex situated experience can be a challenge, we wanted to empower the consumer to navigate the landscape of sustainable period products through a media they would know well; Instagram. This tool is designed as a journey the consumer takes to educate themselves upon the subject. The tool does not promote or name any brands, but simply states the current knowledge upon the products available in an unbiased manner, leaving the evaluation to the user.
In collaboration with Christopher Greve, Lisa Alexandra & Anja Tørnqvist.
